Karim Daoudi’s collection draws on Italian expertise

Footwear designer Karim Daoudi was one of the five POC (people of colour) featured in the virtual fashion show “We are made in Italy – The Fab Five Bridge Builders” during the recent Milano Fashion Week. Born in Marocco, he studied technical drawing and footwear model-making at Cercal in San Mauro Pascoli before beginning his career in a company in the area. His love of accessories inspired him to set up his own studio in 2007, when he won the young designers’ award promoted by Federmoda Roma and participated in TheOneMilano. He also appeared at Fashion Graduate Italia 2019 in Milano. His fall/winter 2021/22 collection, produced by the Ballin shoe company, combines style, elegance and comfort, drawing inspiration from the jungle in a vibrant colour palette ranging from bright green to fuchsia, with black&white touches. His styles include sophisticated optical pumps, fine-strapped sandals, booties with contrasting trim and sensual knee-high boots decorated with a cage effect. Footwear representing the quintessence of Italian style!
