It is reserved for artisans in the footwear, textile, clothing, tailoring, eyewear, and jewellery sectors

Organised by Confartigianato, Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana, LVMH, and in collaboration for this first 2023 edition with Fendi, the Maestri d’Eccellenza award is aimed at Italian professionals and companies in the footwear, textile, clothing, tailoring, eyewear, and jewellery sectors.

The aim is clear: to celebrate the excellence of ‘Made in Italy’ manufacturing and, indirectly, to push young people to develop a passion for manual skills and approach these professions which require artistic qualities, creativity, but also organisation and team spirit.

The competition for 2023 is aimed at three categories, each of which will secure a prize: ‘Master Craftsman of Excellence’, intended for professionals and companies with at least 5 years of experience, who are committed to developing and transmitting their know-how linked to the Italian tradition. ‘Emerging Master Craftsman of Excellence’, intended for those pursuing a promising craft project, which kicked off within 5 years of applying for the award. ‘Master of Innovation of Excellence’, aimed at professionals or companies that stand out for their ability to innovate, while preserving historical knowledge and skills, revisited in a modern key. The winners will be named in September 2023.
