The exploration of American fashion continues: the second exhibition opens at the Met

Two exhibitions at the Met in New York that opened at different times continue in parallel and both end in September of this year. The first In America: A Lexicon of Fashion was inaugurated on the 18^th of September, 2021, preceded by the traditional gala; the second In America: An Anthology of Fashion can be visited from the 7^th of May, also preceded on the 2^nd of May by the most glamorous evening of the year, which is traditionally held on the first Monday of the month (blocked for two years by Covid). Both presentations are intended to be a reflection on the evolution of American fashion, its impact on aesthetics, culture, and society. In the second part, men’s and women’s clothing dating from the eighteenth century to the present day are on display in the American Wing of the Metropolitan Museum in New York, where the Period Rooms are located, which reconstruct original rooms from the seventeenth to the twentieth century.
