On the catwalks are more formal shoes and less streetwear. But all the brands offer them, with a hefty dose of creativity

What happened to the sneakers on the catwalks of the Milan and Paris fashion weeks for Autumn-Winter 2023/24? Clothing has overshadowed exaggerated streetwear to favour a more orderly style that highlights the construction of garments and sartorial details. To accompany the clothes, therefore, is traditional footwear: high-heeled pumps, boots, slingbacks, sandals, and flats, but always with a dash of creativity. And then the sneakers? Since Gen Z, and not only them, can’t do without them, having been born digital and with sneakers on their feet, sneakers are still present in all the brand collections. Models that combine comfort and fashion, whether they have a vintage flavour with all-over dirt, or contemporary ones with rubber dripping on the upper. Sneaker addicts will be able to divide themselves between the “purists” who choose total white (or the newer silver or gold versions) and box soles, and the “avant-garde” who prefer chunky soles and a mixture of materials and colours. And for winter, padded uppers and sheepskin profiles are must-haves. There is something for all tastes and needs!
