A new brand of women's shoes combining contemporary design with artisanal dyeing

Almost thirty years in the footwear industry, at the helm of the company AlbaModa, which designs and manufactures shoes for Italian brands, but not only, that operate at various market levels and offer their customers expertise from design right through to the finished product.

Until last year, when, from their headquarters in Certaldo, nestled in the Tuscan hills, Sandro Ferri and Paola Balsotti decided to launch a new brand of women’s shoes, PF16.

With a “punched” logo that brings to mind the flagship product of the spring/summer collection – extra-colourful perforated sneakers – PF16 draws its inspiration from contemporary design and the colours of Tuscany. And the leather they use is from Tuscany, too — where else would it be from, since the region is home to one of the most famous tanning centres, Santa Croce Sull’Arno, just a stone’s throw away?

Speaking of colours, it’s worth pointing out that they are one of the brand’s strengths. It uses artisanal processes such as plunging into colour and hand buffing, both carried out on the finished shoe to achieve elaborate shades and hues.
