[On cover: Marcelo Burlon County of Milan and Doucal’s shoes]

If you’re going to spend the holidays somewhere nice and warm, but you’d rather have been in the mountains, don’t worry! Dress for the Alps, or as if you were in a ski chalet, even in town. The fashion today is for an urban explorer look that would be envied by the North Pole adventurers of the past. Puff jacketsalso available in vegan versions with no animal down – and high-tech cold-weather jackets, Norwegian sweaters, big scarves, capacious backpacks, and, of course, footwear inspired by boots for hiking over impervious terrain.

Outdoor styles such as hiking boots, trekking shoes and hybrid sneakers with hooks for the laces continue to set the trend. Freely inspired by the members of historic expeditions, or with specific heritage references, as in the case of Bally, which is bringing back its historic line of hiking boots, with three styles named after well-known Swiss Alps, footwear for the city features lugged soles, boiled wool linings, robust hides and laces in contrasting colours.
