The catwalk of the 2023 edition of the contest dedicated to aspiring designers, which selects the future stars of international fashion, will be held as usual at Micam on the 18th of September. Registration is still open and recent graduates and undergraduates in fashion design who wish to take part can register on the mittelmoda.com website by the 30th of June 2023. Unpublished prizes and new competition categories make the final prize pool even more interesting.
In continuity with the objectives set by the association of the same name that promotes the contest and by the shareholders’ meeting – among which we find the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, Confindustria Moda, and the Fondazione del Tessile Italiano – also in this edition the categories in the competition increase, verticalizing the awards for individual sectors with the aim of drawing ever more attention to all segments of the production chain of the textile-fashion-clothing sector, the true and authentic mission and beating heart of this international contest. In addition to the two Absolute Prizes for innovation and creativity (respectively for 10,000 euros, offered by the Fondazione del Tessile Italiano together with Confindustria Moda, and 5,000 euros, offered by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana), the International Lab of Mittelmoda is also giving away numerous industry awards: the “Shoes Award” offered by Micam, the “Bag Award” by Mipel, the “Accessories” award offered by Mido, the “Textile and materials Award” offered by MilanoUnica, the menswear and womenswear award, up for grabs from Sistema Moda Italia, the “Seasonless Award” offered by TheOneMilano, the “Italian Leather” prize offered by Linea Pelle. Two unedited awards are added to the rich prize pool: the “Finest Trousers Award” offered by GTA Moda and the “Finest Shirt Award” offered, instead, by GALLIA.
Furthermore, two Special Awards are reconfirmed, the “Sustainability Award”, offered by Asahi Kasei and the “Young Creative leader of tomorrow” Award (for the best student in digital marketing), offered by the “Amici di Andreas Schmeidler” (Friends of Andreas Schmeidler) Association.
