Micam will be the first large-scale trade fair to be held at Fiera Milano Rho since the lockdown and will take place during fashion week, from 20-23 September. The fact that over 500 exhibitors have confirmed they will be attending the shoe fair is a clear sign that the sector is starting to bounce back and is ready to take orders for the Spring/Summer 2021 season. For this special 90th edition, Micam will have a new layout occupying pavilions 1,2,3,4 and 6 and including areas dedicated to Mipel and its leatherware and to TheOneMilano’s women’s pret-à-porter, enabling the over 5000 already accredited European buyers to get a comprehensive overview of fashions for next summer. A successful example of the synergy that has been created between different fashion segments, perfectly summed up in the payoff tag #strongertogether, and which also includes Lineapelle’s new format – A New Point of View – which will be held at Rho Fiera on the 22nd and 23rd of September. Completing the trade fair offering, the HOMI Fashion & Jewels Exhibition, on from 19-22 September, will also partly overlap with Micam.
The stars of this edition of Micam, which will be held in total safety and in compliance with the anti-Covid guidelines, will be the Micam X area, a laboratory for innovative ideas hosting meetings and events revolving round the four major themes launched in the February 2020 edition of the show – The future of retail, Sustainability, Trends and materials, Heritage & Future – and the Emerging Designers area, confirming Micam’s vocation for promoting young talents. Wonderland will be a quirky area in Pavilion 3 inspired by the second chapter of MICAM in Wonderland, the fairytale providing the theme of the September edition.
