Upper with laser carvings evocative of festive graphics

In Salento, the tradition of illuminations is ancient and dates back to the 16th century when wooden structures were built that recalled the Baroque architectural style. Even today they are the defining feature of every celebration and depict rose windows, naves of churches, and monuments, lighting up with a thousand coloured lights on holidays. The link with the territory and with the local tradition has inspired some models in the Spring/Summer collection by MaiMai, the brand of the Emmegiemme shoe factory which has its production roots in Puglia.

So here are the “Luminarie” and “Holiday” sneakers in white and nude in a basket and slip-on version with a laser-carved upper that recalls the graphics of the illuminations: pinwheels, fireworks, flowers. A golden trillion stud is applied on the heel that gives a flash of light, the sole is in extra-light EVA, the upper is in suede and leather.
