The footwear capsule collection for spring/summer 2023 uses partially recycled materials

There is no sector of the fashion industry that is not committed to protecting the environment and encouraging responsible consumption. This is certainly not an easy path. Awareness can only be reached gradually, involving the company on several fronts, starting from the product itself. La Martina has therefore designed an Eco footwear capsule for spring/summer 2023 that is 50% sustainable, thanks to the composition of the shoe components.  In fact, not only are the footwear upper and lining made of almost 60% recycled polyester, but the sole combines EVA with a recycled rubber compound and the eyelets are made of an apple waste material. The trainers, produced by the Giano shoe factory in the Marche region of Italy, keep all of La Martina’s hallmarks, such as the hot-stamped logos and the handcrafted stitching, which give the models a look that is sophisticated yet suitable for everyday life. “Nowadays, making garments and accessories out of recycled organic materials is almost becoming a fashion in itself,” explains Enrico Paniccià, CEO of Giano, “but when it comes to a positive trend for the environment, there’s no questioning it: that’s what needs to be done.” The Eco capsule collection is completed with a set of backpacks made out of recycled materials, produced by the licensee Principe.
