Starting with the a-w 2020/21 collection, his shoes will be ‘Made in Italy’.
The Northern Irish designer JW Anderson, known for his modern interpretation of an aesthetic that mixes the masculine with the feminine, has signed a production and distribution agreement with the ‘Onward Luxury Group’ for his footwear.
It will come into force for the men’s autumn-winter 2020/21 collection and for the women’s 2020 pre-fall. In perfect genderless style, some shoe types are transversal, such as the loafer, a real must-have of the brand, decorated with large gold chains (also present on many of the garments) and charcoal-coloured felt.
The partnership with the Italian branch of the Japanese ‘Onward Holdings’ is borne of the designer’s need to improve the quality of his products; something that only ‘Made in Italy’ can provide when it comes to shoes. The ‘Onward Luxury Group’, which has as part of its portfolio both its own brands and clothing and accessory brands that are under license, makes use of several production sites in Italy, specialised in various types of footwear.
