Femininity and glamour for the Lubello Firenze shoes inspired by the shots of Helmut Newton
What ingredients can excite fashion addicts if not that alchemical mix of glamour, femininity, arty inspiration and, of course, ‘Made in Italy’? A perfect cocktail that the designer Luca Lubello has chosen for the Autumn/Winter 23/24 collection, which is still part of his DNA. The founder and creative director of the homonymous brand Lubello Firenze, born in 2019, began his career in fashion after studying fashion design, which was followed by experiences in the creative offices of Ferragamo and Max Verre, contributions to the development of the brand Louis Leeman, and collaborations with Casadei and Mary Katrantzou. These were important stages in refining his aesthetic taste and technical knowledge in the production of footwear. From whence the technology and ‘Made in Italy’ craftsmanship that are the prerequisites of the brand, which chooses only high-quality leathers and materials, modelling them in footwear with a high level of femininity and glamour. Thanks to the inspiration from the photographic shots of Helmut Newton, who immortalised fascinating models and characters in an atmosphere of seduction and luxury, from Charlotte Rampling to Grace Jones, Catherine Deneuve and Isabelle Huppert, who often walk in stiletto heels, an undeniable source of seduction. And it is precisely a new heel that characterises the next collection and becomes, in its particular shape, a design object. Thus, born the ‘Eva’ heel as born, 105mm high, on which high-heeled pumos, ankle boots “with handles”, and cuissards are hoisted; taking its cue from the image “Tied-Up Torso, Ramatuelle, 1980” by Helmut Newton, in which the model has her torso tied by a rope and her hands covered by long black leather gloves that she grips tightly. An interpretation that for the designer goes beyond a fetishist one, to evoke seduction and feminine power. This heel joins the “Paris” heel because it recalls the Eiffel Tower. In both cases, Lubello Firenze shoes are real sculptures to wear. The worldwide distribution of the brand is entrusted to the Studiozeta showroom in Milan.
