The designer teams up with Kallisté, choosing vegan footwear

Gilberto Calzolari, spokesperson for the new sustainable generation that combines ethics and aesthetics in fashion, could not choose any other type of footwear for his presentations and catwalks than that which is in line with his eco-friendly way of thinking. For some seasons now, in fact, he has chosen Kallisté, a brand that offers models in vegan materials, which also accompanied the new capsule collection for Volvo Studio Milano, the result of an agreement with Volvo for the launch of their fully electric C40 Recharge. The limited edition consists of dresses and skirts in recycled polyester crepe de chine, GRS certified, made by the Italian textile company Clerici Tessuto using yarn obtained from plastic recovered from the oceans. The garments are accompanied by a bag and a hat made from upcycled exploded airbags.

As for the Gilberto Calzolari S/S 2022 collection, bold colour combinations stand out as well as the bright and vibrant colours themselves; from pine green to fluorescent green, from pastel pink to purple, from orange to turquoise, to brown with daisies blooming out from it. Fabrics go from Seaqual polyester duchesse, – entirely made from recycled plastics recovered from the sea – to SFC-certified linen and viscose, to GOTS-certified organic cotton and silk organza. To go with this collection, once again, there are sandals by Kallisté.
