A short supply chain and natural materials are the requirements to meet the growing needs of consumers who are increasingly attentive to the environment. DIS therefore chose to produce only to order without having stocks of product, using suppliers of raw materials in a radius of only 10 kilometres, thus reducing C02 emissions by 30%, and using only natural materials. From these choices comes “Terra”, the go-to model of the collection for S/S 2022, a biodegradable sneaker in certified metal free calfskin, a sole in natural Hevea milk, and an insole in corn fibre. Biodegradable components, water-based glue, and colours of natural origin complete the identikit of the shoe. The other sneakers in the collection also use nylon and recycled fabrics in summer colours, with perforated uppers and flexible soles. The formal men’s line is renewed with colours derived from natural pigments and with light rubber soles.
