With footwear, just like with clothing, it’s time to experiment

Two-tone shoes should only be worn with a plain-coloured outfit?

That’s a myth to be debunked – you only have to watch the Dolce&Gabbana fashion show for s/s 2017 – and an example we should follow, albeit with due caution.

Shoes with two or more tones, from classic and sporty versions to sneakers, will be right on-trend this coming spring. Distancing themselves from the iconic styles of the fifties, when two-tone designs were the height of fashion, the new footwear combines leathers and materials in contrasting tones, in a mix that also brings into play the sole, which is now the focal point of modern-day men’s shoes.

If you are not feeling quite bold enough to try colour blocked or multicoloured uppers, then don’t forget that even just a coloured sole can liven up your outfit.
