Cuissard Temptation

Who could ever forget the long white boots Jane Fonda wore in the film Barbarella? It was 1968 and they soon became one of the fashion icons of the moment, but are still trendy today. And what about Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman (1990), with her red patent cuissards? Now, in the winter of 2017/18, over-knee boots are back in the shops and already on the feet of scores of women. It’s not actually a come-back since over the last decade we’ve often seen them on the catwalks; on the contrary, they have become something of an ever-green, transcending the seasons.

In fact, they will still be “cool” during the 2018 spring/summer season, when Chanel’s clear vinyl cuissard boots take centre stage. As far as this winter is concerned, you can choose between thigh-high models, in stretch fabrics that cling like a second skin, or soft  low-heeled boots for a more casual sporty look. Medium heel models are undoubtedly the trendiest, and there is a wide choice of materials: suede, velvet, patent leather, embroidered fabrics, and treated leather.  There’s something for all tastes and budgets!
