A documentary tells the stories of the artisans, designers and business owners of the Montegranaro territory.

The Italian footwear industry is made up of large industries, many known all over the world, as well as small craft enterprises, mostly unknown, that with creativity and ingenuity are able to create small works of art.

To give a face and a voice to these realities, the Altritalia cultural association of Montegranaro has realised the project “Between memory and future: Montegranaro, footwear, its artisans” which consists of a photographic volume and a documentary to tell the stories of the artisans, designers and business owners of the territory.

The documentary, created by Samuele Baccifava and video-maker Alberto D’Agostino, unfurls in ten interviews documenting history and craftsmanship, covering periods from the present to the future of the profession, complete with music created by a group of artists from Fermo, iFootwear District- In Your Shoes (Ost).

The video images have been captured and collected in a book, where the most beautiful shots by the photographer Gianfranco Mancini are accompanied with texts and reflections.

Both the documentary and the book constitute an effective tool for cultural promotion of the territory.
