The ‘Made in Italy’ brand adds clothing to footwear
A passion for fashion often comes from one’s roots and territory. It happened to Martina Ferraro, born in Naples and raised in Puglia, who decided to move to Milan at a very young age. After graduating in Footwear Design at the IED, she began her career as an assistant stylist, but she didn’t feel accomplished in this area. It was then be a sad event in her life, the death of her mother, that brought her back to her roots, to Puglia and the creation of shoes. A pause for reflection to look at herself and then the courage to create ‘Claire’, named after her mother Clara, first a boutique and then a footwear collection to which clothing has also been added. All ‘Made in Italy’, “because” – says the designer – “it is synonymous with quality and experience”. The Autumn-Winter 23/24 collection pays attention to materials: vegetable-tanned leathers, which are free of heavy metals, which preserve the natural grain unaltered. The models range from a goatskin cowboy boot, to a sheepskin combat boot, to pony skin shoes.
