From the collaboration comes a capsule of responsible sneakers
Baldinini’s commitment in the field of sustainability has materialised with a sustainable capsule created by ACBC, the first Italian B Corp expert in the design and production of sustainable and animal-friendly shoes. “It is a path that the company has undertaken by embracing ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria” – explains the CEO Christian Prazzoli – “After we sided with the Dress for Success Association for female empowerment, it was the turn of a sneaker capsule whose production involved the reduction of about 50% of CO2, made by a credible and competent partner. We therefore wanted to combine ethics and aesthetics through 11 men’s and 10 women’s models made of responsible and certified materials, pre- and post-consumer recycled and bio-based”. In fact, among the materials there are recycled thermoplastic polyurethane, PET bottles and sugar cane derivatives with the novelty that the sole is personalised by the new embossed monogram and partially made in ReTPU, pre-consumer recycled rubber granules. The midsole is partially in Bio-EVA, a material biosynthesised from sugar cane, and the lining is in RePET, a post-consumer recycled polyester. The sneakers are available in two variants, one with a low cut in the classic version and one with a mid cut, in a wide colour palette: white, blue, black, plum, and multicolour. With these features, the liaison with ACBC, an acronym for Anything Can Be Changed, was inevitable for Baldinini, convinced that reducing its impact on the environment is becoming the mission of the entire fashion system. The ACBC x Baldinini capsule collection will be on sale to the public from October 2023 on the two companies’ e-commerce sites and at selected retailers.
