The circles of Hell on shoes by Carli 1937
700 years after his death, Dante is more alive than ever and, for this important anniversary, the fashion industry has paid tribute to him with collections, capsule collections, and products inspired by the ‘Divine Comedy’. Dante’s work also inspired the Tuscan shoe factory Carli 1937 which has produced a series of sneakers and classic models with the circles of Hell imprinted on the upper. The company, from a small laboratory founded by Adolfo Carli in 1937, has grown over the years and is now managed by the family’s third generation, always with a passion for a ‘Made in Italy’ product. ‘Made in Tuscany’, in fact, and with deep roots in the quality of the workmanship, such as the ‘slip-lasting’ method used to make their moccasins. The capsule collection dedicated to Dante consists of sneakers, lace-ups and moccasins, both classic and sporty models, which are important for the Pieve a Nievole shoe factory’s production.
