A touch of art that enriches even the simplest model
‘Made in Italy’ is full of beautiful stories. Stories that have their roots in a family’s past, often a breeding ground for visionary ideas, manual skills, and craftsmanship, of links with art. ‘Made in Italy’ is full of beautiful stories. Stories that have their roots in a family’s past, often a breeding ground for visionary ideas, manual skills, and craftsmanship, of links with art. This is the case for Gardoni which makes silk scarves, perfect for personalising even footwear, giving a touch of colour to simpler models.
“Our scarves” – explains Miriam Gardoni – “are hand-made and art-made products, real canvases to wear, which interpret the art of my grandfather, Vincenzo Gardoni, a painter from Parma, who populated his paintings with inked faces and figures. With my sisters, Teresa and Arianna, I wanted to enhance these works of art and give them a new lease of life through high quality fashion products and craftsmanship”.
Thus, in their Parma studio-laboratory, small works of art are born, the result of a remixing of drawings and details that break up and multiply the images of the original paintings, to create new and modern palettes. The versatility of the foulard brings back a cult accessory of the divas of the fifties and sixties, now destined for other uses than just adorning the neck – as in this case, it can be used from head to toe.
