Many brands do it sooner or later – partly out of a passion for shoes, partly to complete their range of accessories.
Shoes are the natural extension of a handbag collection, with which they often share the same inspiration and mood, materials and details. A case in point is that of these two well-known handbag companies:
Les Petit Joueurs, a brand created four years ago by designer Maria Sole Cecchi, is making its debut for the S/S 2019 season with a range of court shoes, boots, sling-backs and sandals featuring a versatile design and a vintage touch reminiscent of the ‘70s and ‘80s, albeit with a modern twist. True to the brand’s signature elements, such as the use of geometric shapes and primary colours, the shoes have square toes and spool heels, beads and rhinestones.
Salar Milano is the fruit of a creative partnership between Salar Bicheranloo and Francesca Monaco, both passionate long-term shoe collectors. Their handbag collection and the new range of shoes for the S/S 2019 season share a common leit-motif: the surreal atmosphere of a festival in the desert. Patterning (such as torchon braiding), details and warm colours that offset more acid tones, are used to develop different themes.
One of the brand’s most iconic elements, the signature pyramidal studs that have made Salar Milano bags universally recognizable, are visible on the heels of their footwear collection.
