Matteo Ciampalini created his own line in 2017, after collaborating with prestigious fashion brands, from Sergio Rossi to Antonio Berardi, from Elie Saab to Iceberg, and to Emilio Pucci. He is now splitting his time between Los Angeles, where he collaborates with different brands, and Florence, where he produces his own brand: Matteomars.
The brand made its debut in 2017 in the selection of Vogue Talents.
Small pieces of art with ‘architectural’ lines, his shoes are very feminine and sexy thanks also to details designed to enhance the foot, like the graphic element of the “swoosh” line, an upturned moustache inspired by the work of the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, which has become the stylistic marker of the Florentine designer.
The autumn-winter 2019/20 collection, presented at the White event, also offers heels with pleating and handmade ruches that are a tribute to Alaia and Madame Vionnet, where femininity is reinterpreted in glamorous eighties tones.
The designer plays with the infinity symbol, interpreted on ankle boots, sandals with ankle straps, and sling-backs.
And adding a snake motif that gives a three-dimensional effect to the uppers. The materials used range from satin to tassels, from velvet to metallic leathers.
